Author, blogger, photographer, presenter, and industry expert
Hi there, and welcome to my online portfolio. You are probably wondering who I am and what I do. Well, my name is Macca Sherifi and I am a jogger – that’s a cross between a journalist and a blogger with the best skills from both industries.
I write on a myriad of topics but namely travel giving the best advice and information in an easy-to-read style that I would describe as ‘cutesy’.
My two real passions in life are travelling and photography, which is lucky because half the time I am travelling around the world as a travel writer with a notepad in one hand and a camera in the other.
In 2009-10, I travelled for 20 months non-stop, never settling in one place for more than a week or two, living to travel and travelling to live. I’ve backpacked, volunteered and worked abroad (in China and Australia). At the last check, I’ve travelled to well over 45 countries and counting.
When I’m not writing about travelling I’m usually talking about it. I’ve spoken about backpacking and travelling at events such as the Telegraph Adventure Travel Show, the TNT Travel Show and Down Under Live, as well at a number of schools, colleges and universities around the country.
I’ve also been quoted in all major national papers and I’ve spoken on BBC Radio London, so I’d like to think I know what I’m talking about.
In my spare time I read about travelling, think about travelling, and then travel…
If you’d like to talk about working or collaborating with me, please find my details on my contact page.
